Park Crashes & Waiver Claims

The park has crashed a couple of times, and the problem has been fixed. A team was in an unusual state which I have never before seen. If this happens again, I will have to dig further, but for now I'm treating this as a one-time event.

Rookie Events Scheduled

A couple of maintenance items for rookie leagues have been scheduled to always occur at the same time each season. Rookie Training will always be applied one hour after spring training begins. Rookie teams will be unloaded eight hours after the regular season begins. Rookie teams will be loaded with new draft picks 12 hours before the rookie season begins. Hopefully this will set expectations and ensure these events always occur on a predictable schedule.

Aging is Going Backwards

The aging script was running slow, so I made some modifications to it. They're running faster, and they're also training the youngest first now.

Rookie Teams Loaded with New Rookies

The 1930 rookie teams are now loaded with players which have extra training for next Spring. You will be able to spend these points as your players earn them through playtime this season - anytime you like. Rookie Training is due by the beginning of Spring Training. The Season Milestones bar has been updated to reflect this.

Rookie Training Update

The rookie players have a whole new way to train. Go to your Training page, and choose "Rookie Training" from the left drop-down. Each rookie has a number of points you can spend on training based on playing time. The rookie draft will also change as each player will have some sort of a prospect skill which gives them more points to spend on training. This round of training is due at the end of Winter Ball and will be applied first thing in Spring Training.

Rookie Training has been Delayed

I have disabled rookie training until the training upgrades have been completed. This will be sometime this week - this weekend at the latest. The worst case is that there won't be any training during this rookie season. The best case I don't want to promise, but the training session will not be lost. Rookies will undoubtedly train better this season.

New Training Model

There will be a new training model being used starting with Rookie League training in 1929. There is a new page which will allow you to simulate training, located here. I am still tweaking the exact formula, but it's enough to get the idea. The changes are summarized in the full message below.

Would anyone else be interested in an over age 50 only league? It would be your "extra" A league team and operate under the standard no cap DH 40 man do as you please format. I think it could be a neat challenge to find the old geezers and try and be competitive with a team that would be literally falling off a cliff in terms of stats every year.

While we mark the 25th anniversary of Back to the Future, the Deloreans took to the field for their first ever playoff game. They visited Le Rendez-Vous Garden to face the Fort Rouge Voyageurs. They celebrated the occasion by making it their first playoff victory, winning the game 7-5.
