Proposals for Next Year
21 Jan 2010 by Erick
I now have the ability to easily change proposals from "Immediate" to "Next Year" and I will be using this to mark proposals like division changes that can't be made before the end of the season. This will help me focus on those that can be made, and hopefully help me to review them more regularly. If you see your proposal change to "Next Year", it means that it will be executed during the off-season before the next season schedules during Spring Training.

Private Offers Correction
27 Nov 2009 by Erick
When the Public Offers were changed to a minimum length based on age, the Private Offers got changed with them. This was unintended and unannounced. I have corrected this - I should have done it a week ago when it first started. There are still 36 hours left until the first round of signings, and any offers can still be changed.

Happy Thanksgiving
26 Nov 2009 by Erick
I want to wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving, whether you are in the United States or not. It's been six months now since I took a day job, and I also want to give a quick update on what I've been working on. I don't really feel like I can give any real details, but I'll say what I can.

Chat Room Rules
16 Nov 2009 by Erick
The chat room rules have been posted. These rules were worked on by some of the moderators on the site, and I think they're appropriate. Once you approve them, you won't have to do it again until they change.

Minimum Length for Public Offers
10 Nov 2009 by Erick
Beginning this season, all public offers must be at least as long as the minimum extension would be for a player of the same age. Players 24 or younger require three year contracts and 25 - 29 require two year contracts.

Lag Improvements in Place
24 Oct 2009 by Erick
I spent some time this week optimizing the site for speed. I hope that everyone notices a dramatic improvement in speeds. We might have to wait until opening day 1919 to see the biggest difference. The players homepage is one of the more noticable parts.

07 Jul 2009 by celeron450
Your thoughts are requested on the future of SimYard. In hopes of giving Erick a clear idea of what the users of SimYard want him to work on, several of us have set up this poll. Please take the time to provide your opinion. After a few days, the results will be posted here and sent to Erick. Please keep in mind, this survey is completely user generated. We will make every effort to continue to encourage Erick in his development, but cannot make promises on his behalf.

Signing Changes for February
03 Feb 2009 by Erick
Due to the shortened month of February this year, there will be an extra signing round taking place in the middle of the playoffs. Player transfers will be delayed, however, until the start of Spring Training. There are no winter leagues this season. The master schedule has been updated to show this extra round of signings.

26 Jan 2010 by pegleg
In his first and last season in the Midwest League, Joe Stiles, a 31 year old infielder for The D'ville Jailbirds, has done what only a few have in baseball history. He has won the triple crown. With a batting average of .449 homerun total of 39 and rbi total of 214 he has proven that he is the best in the league. He hopes to be able to add M.V.P. at the end of the season as well as a Championship ring. Heres hoping to more great years ahead as the Jailbirds are moving to the United Affiliated League starting in 1921.Good luck Joe may your star keep shining.

We're Getting Better, Just You Watch
03 Dec 2009 by myups88car
GM myups was beyond excited when he received this season's projections."Wow. To be projected where we are and to have one of the youngest teams in each league is a testament to the hard work our players have been putting in. I want to reassure our fans that unlike last year, there won't be any player transactions. These players will be on these teams for this year and next."
