Players Award History
29 Jun 2009 by Erick
There is a new tab on the Players page, for Awards. This shows all of the league awards this player has earned so far in his career. This will only apply for a small percentage of players, of course, but it's nice to be able to see a list for players that have won multiple times.

Training Page Update
28 Jun 2009 by Erick
It's a small change, but potentially very time-saving. The players stats now show up on the training pages. It's the brief format, and the key is underneath the table, but it's the same format we use on the depth chart. Good luck to everyone in the upcoming Spring Training sessions!

State of SimYard
13 Jun 2009 by Erick
It's been a long time since I've addressed the state of SimYard, and there has been at least one big change. I've been working on SimYard (and other websites) full-time for over two years, but now I have accepted a job. I'd like to take a moment to share with you what this will mean for SimYard.

SimYard Fest Hotel Reservations
10 Jun 2009 by Erick
I have found an excellent deal on a hotel right nearby the airport for SimYard Fest, and it's none other than the Howard Johnsons. They are offering us a single or a double for $48.99 / night. See the SimYardFest page for more details. Remember if you'd like a ticket with the group to the Kane County Cougars game, let me know that you'll be here by Friday.

New League Position - CTO
08 Jun 2009 by Erick
Leagues can now propose a member of the league into a new position - Chief Trades Officer (CTO). The CTO and Commissioner can each approve trades, as long as they are not involved. In the case of a trade between the CTO and Commissioner, Erick will still have to approve the trade. Other trades can be executed immediately by either of them.

Stadium Problems
11 May 2009 by Erick
There was a problem with the stadium upgrades that happened during the off-season, and it caused the stadiums for 1913 to not get locked in. They're locked in now, but this delay has left a few problems throughout the yard. If you are having finance problems because of this, please fill out the Contact Erick form with the details.

New Proposal Separation
01 May 2009 by Erick
The options in a league proposal have been separated to identify the changes which require approval. If you want to propose a change that requires approval, you may wish to make it a separate proposal to other changes. This will help those other changes to get approved right away.

Emergency Roster Repair
10 Apr 2009 by Erick
The rookie leagues were scanned and sub-standard 17-year-olds generated to fill the holes. You can dismiss whomever you like. Any players dismissed will not show up in interact until they are aged in the Spring. 17-year-olds cannot be placed in the reserve because they are not under contract.

Second Park Team for Rookie Permit Owners
05 Apr 2009 by Erick
A second park team is now included with the rookie permit. This allows you to have seven total teams. I don't have any plans to expand the number of teams past this point, although there are still upgrades planned for quite some time. The rookie permit will remain the final level of permits.

Rookie League Pre-Rankings
02 Apr 2009 by Erick
The Rookie Leagues have been loaded with 17-year-olds ready to be drafted. You can use the draft pages to specify how many of each position you want to draft, and to pre-rank the players. Let me know if you have any problems, and we'll run some mock drafts in the next couple days before the real ones next week.

Clearing the Rookies
31 Mar 2009 by Erick
The rookie drafts are coming, and the deadline to have your Rookie League roster cleared is the end of Spring Training. If anyone is left on the team by then, they will be removed. To help with this, there is a button on your roster page to remove the lineups and pitching rotation so that all the players can be cleared out. Once you do that, there is another button to clear out the whole team. You don't have to use this, since this will be done for you at the end of Spring Training if there is anyone left.

Market Value
07 Mar 2009 by Erick
The market values for 1911 have been posted on the player pages. These values will be used for the minimum public offer price and also the minimum extension price. The "highest amount a player has been paid" will not factor into extension prices any longer.

Tomahawks Captain Announces NAL Retirement

The game that every spring makes the old feel young and the young wait with impatience for the first days of April to turn the calendar will begin without one of the enduring staples of the storied Tomahawks baseball club. Before a small gathering of faithful fans on a brisk February morning, Somerville native Harry Brown announced his retirement from the Northern Affiliated League.

Do You Believe in Miracles?
27 May 2009 by ari
It has come time to update the Sharks in the playoff. The Wildcard round was a breeze, sweeping easily in 2 games. The Sharks won game one 23-1, one of the biggest playoff victories in SimYard history. Game 2 was not much different, except the Orioles of Baltimore scored a few runs early on, but the Sharks rallied huge and won 11-9. Seedwise, it was a huge upset, but it was an upset in nobody's mind. Despite being the third seed, most people considered the Orioles of Baltimore the worst team in the playoffs, because of the Independent division structure. The divisions are not equal, you have the top division, middle division, and lower division (not exactly the names). Baltimore, the winner of the lower division, was the division winner with the third best record, thus earning the third seed. The Sharks, with their division fiasco, ended up as the third best wildcard team, thus earning the sixth seed.
