Batting
abilities to put the ball into play
HIT - Hitting is the fundamental skill defining hitting
ability. Being able to make good contact with the ball is defined by this stat.
BSP - Bat Speed determines how fast the player can swing
the baseball bat. A faster swing means an increased ability to place the ball
to different part of the field for extra base hits. It also means the decision
about whether or not to swing can be made a split-second later.
POW - Power determines how much power this batter can put
into the baseball. More power means more line drive hits, more deep fly balls,
and more home runs.

Pitching
abilities to deliver the ball to the batter
FIN - Finesse is the fundamental skill defining pitching
ability. This stat reflects the ability to use movement and speed change to
confuse the batter and prevent him from making good contact.
PSP - Pitch Speed determines how fast the player can
pitch the baseball. When a pitcher can pitch faster, the batter will have less
time to recognize a good pitch. This results in more strikeouts and a reduced
ability to place a ball for extra bases.
END - Endurance allows the pitcher to throw more pitches
in one appearance. It also allows the pitcher to throw on short rest with
more effectiveness.

Fielding/Baserunning
abilities to make or prevent outs
CTH - Catching is the ability to catch the ball. All
fielders can take advantage of this ability, but it is especially important
for firstbasemen and catchers.
THR - Throwing is the ability to throw the ball long
distances to another player so that it can be easily caught. This skill has
no effect on pitching ability. All fielders can take advantage of this
ability, but it is especially important for outfielders, thirdbasemen, and
catchers.
AWA - Awareness is knowing what is going on in the game
at all times. At higher levels, this becomes instinct for players and can
affect any situation. This is especially important for catchers, and a low
awareness can be detrimental while baserunning.
SPD - Speed is being able to run quickly. This is
important for outfielders, and a high speed is very important for stealing
bases.
BRV - Bravery is remaining cool under pressure and
getting the job done. This helps runners steal bases, and helps catchers get
an out at home. Pitchers with a high bravery can remain calm when runners are
on base, and batters with a high bravery will hit better with runners in
scoring position.
