Helping the Automanager
Set your Starting Rotation to put your best five starters in order from #1
through #5. The automanager will take these in order when they are rested.

When does the Automanager pull a pitcher?
The Automanager will pull a pitcher when he is tired. This is determined by
his stamina, and if he was pitched on short rest. The maximum pitch count
may be extended to get out of an inning or to complete five innings. The
Automanager will also pull a pitcher if he gives up 8 runs, earned or
otherwise. Under no circumstances will the Automanager pull a SP which has
not given up a hit. The Automanager will also not pull a pitcher for fatigue
who does not have any runners on base.
Manager Controls: You can use the "Pitcher Substitutions:" option to
add an additional 15 or 30 pitches to the max pitch count or to shorten an
outing by 15 pitches.
The Automanager will also pull a pitcher to put in Holders and Closers under
the top 5 circumstances described to the left.
Manager Controls: You can use the "Holder & Closer Substitutions:"
option to disable this type of substitution.
The Automanager will bring in a pinch hitter for a Starting Pitcher when the
pitcher has surpassed his pitch count. The Automanager will always bring in
a pinch hitter for an RP.
Manager Controls: You can use the "Pitcher Substitutions:" option to
disable always pinch hitting for an RP. If this option is set to an additional
15 or 30 pitches, the Automanager will not make this substitution.
The Automanager will bring in a pinch hitter for a position player when the
opposing Starting Pitcher has been relieved and the handedness has changed
and when the player in that position is different in the vs. LHP and vs. RHP
lineups. In this case, the Automanager will substitute out that player in a
straight switch when he comes to bat.
Manager Controls: You can use the "Pinch Hitter Substitutions:" option
to disable this behavior.
